Heavy rain for Fiordland



A cold front preceded by a moist northwesterly flow is forecast to bring
a period of heavy rain to Fiordland from late this afternoon until
Monday morning.



Note, a Severe Weather Watch has be issued for regions likely to be
impacted by Cyclone Gita during Tuesday and Wednesday. Severe Weather
Warnings containing more detail will be issued late Monday morning.

Heavy Rain Warning

Heavy rain may cause streams and rivers to rise rapidly. Surface
flooding and slips are also possible and driving conditions may be
hazardous.
Area: Fiordland

Valid: 15 hours from 4:00pm Sunday to 7:00am Monday

Forecast: Expect 75 to 100mm of rain. Peak rates of 15 to 25mm per hour
expected Sunday night and Monday morning, especially with possible
thunderstorms.
